SOCCER.

RANGERS v. FOXTON. The above teams met on the North St. ground, Palmerston North, on Saturday in dull weather. Foxton won the toss and elected to play towards the southern goal with a strong wind behind them. Play was very much in their favour during the first half. Rangers scored hnlf-nn-hour after the start from a melee in front of the goal. Half time: Rangers 1, Foxton nil. During the second half the wind was not so strong, and Foxton had as much of the play as their opponents, hut could not score. The second half was balf-an-hour gone when Rangers again scored through Anderson, to he followed shortly after with another goal by the same player. Just on call of time Palmer added a fourth goal. Final result: Rangers 4 goals, Foxton nil. The result is not a true reflex of the game. Foxton had a good deal of hard luck throughout the entire game. Crow, Brown, Miller, Me- - Beer, Anderson and Palmer. Foxton: —Hinds, A. Crowe. Eerrie, Lloyd, P. Pedersen, McAllister, McKniglit, H. Pedersen, Colson, W. Mounsey and Taylor.
