A CHARGE ADMITTED.

Eltham, April 13. Frederick Gear, aged 23, a labourer, a married man with three children, pleaded guilty to a charge of breaking and entering a house on Mountain Road on the afternoon of March 29. and was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence. The accused was surprised by the return of the owner and scrambled out of a window and ran away. Nothing was missed from the house. The accused had previous convictions against him for theft, and had been granted probation.
