ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

R.S.A. v. FOXTON.

The above teams met on Easton Park on Saturday last in ideal weather before a fair number of spectators. Foxton won the toss and elected to play towards south goal. Play was very even for some time until 11.5. A. found the net with a very soft shot followed by another shortly after. Foxton got busy and scored through Young. R.S.A. then scored again. Shortly after Foxton scored again through Taylor, this being the best goal of the game. 11.5. A. scored another before the finish of the game. The game ended R.S.A. 4, Foxton 2, Foxton did very well, everything, considered. They played a few new men whom the old players had not previously met. They played a very good game throughout! and once they become acquainted with one another Foxton will have a very good turn. Mr. loden had charge of the game and controlled it to the satisfaction of all concerned. Foxton travel to Palmerston North oh Saturday where they meet the Athletic.

The following paragraph appeared in last night’s Standard: —Visitors to Foxton on Saturday remarked that the newly formed team there will, with training, develop into an excellent combination. Several boys from Flock House, who have been appointed to positions in the district, have joined the team and considerably increased the strength of the club.

The following is the list of fixtures for the first round of the Manawatu Association football competition:— R.S.A. v. Foxton (at Foxton); Rangers v. Athletic; St. Andrews v. Flock House. Rangers v. Flock House; R.S.A. v. Sfc. Andrews; Athletic v. Foxton (at Palmerston North). Athletic v. Flock House; St. Andrews v. Foxton (at Foxton); R.S.A. v. Rangers. Rangers v. Foxton (at Palmerston North); R.S.A. v. Flockhouse, St. Andrews v. Athletic. R.S.A. v. Athletic; Foxton v. Flock House; Rangers v. St. Andrews. The second round will be the same as the first except that the travelling teams in the above draw will remain home. All Flock House fixtures will be played at the hostel.
