CROQUET.

The final round of the Horowhenua inter-elub matches was played at Levin on 'Tuesday lust* between Shannon and Foxton. The matches were favoured with good weather throughout and proved interesting and enjoyable. The results of Tuesday's matches are as follows: —

Singles: Mrs Brown (5) defeated Mrs McMurray (6),. 20—22; Mrs Mason (12) lost to Mrs Moore (7), 13—26.

Doubles: Mesdames Aim (12) and McLaughan (12) lost to Mesdames Pearson (61) and Parkes (7), 9 —26; Mesdames Watterston (12) and Roach (12) lost to Mesdames Owen (6) and Bryant (81), 13 —26.

The aggregate scores were as follows, Levin proving the winner: —Levin, 409; Foxton, 362; Otaki, 349; Shannon, 286; Mauakau 189.

The linal for the Wednesday 30minute tournament was played on the local green yesterday. The scores are as follows: —Mrs Bryant and Miss Wanklyn, 31; Mesdames Woods and Ball, 3; Owen and Huntley, 21; Perreuu and Moore, 11(Mrs Owen won the A competition with 081 points, Mrs Bryant second with 02. Mrs Ball won the B competition, 721 points, Mrs. Moore being second with 70. This week’s handicap matches resulted as follow: —Mrs Woods (31) defeated Miss Wanklyn (81), 20—21; Mrs Woods (31) defeated Mrs McMurray (21), 26 —20; Mrs Owen (2i) defeated Miss Wanklyn (81), 20—22.
