HO RQVJJHENUA RUGBY UNION.
The annual meeting of delegates to the ITorowhenua Rugby Union was held at Levin last night. There was an attendance of 54 delegates, presided over by Mr. Proctor. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, J. Linklater, Esq. M.P.; president, Mr. J. O’Connor; vice-presidents, Messrs S. Austin, Moynihan, Anderson and Procter; secretary, Mr. Casey; Committee, Messrs W. Neville, Hannan, Lynch, F. Robinson, Robson, Brand, and Procter; vice-president to N.Z.R.U. Mr. J. Procter; delegate to N.Z.R.U., Mr. T. Wrigley; selectors, senior, Winiata; juniors, Dalziell, and F. Robinson.
The local delegates in attendance were Messrs. Delany, Cochrane, Christie, Hutchins, Neville and Barron.
The balance-sheet disclosed a deficit of £6O, due to falling off in gate receipts last year.
I All juniors desirous of playing in Iho match against Berhampore on Saturday next and all seniors willing to make the trip to Opunake, must hand in their names to the secretary before G p.m. on Thursday next.
The opening match of the season will take place on the racecourse on Saturday next when the local juniors play Berhampore (Wellington) juniors. The game shopld attract a largo attendance.
