RANGITIKEI CLUB’S MEETING

FIRST DAYS RESULTS

A fine day succeeded the heavy rains of the previous night and the previously hard Bulls course was in splendid order for the opening day of the Rangitikei Racing Club’s meeting yesterday. A very large crowd was in attendance, though the tote showed a deficit of £1,554 as compared with the corresponding day of the 1025 fixture, the respective figures being £16,689 and £18,243. Results: — Ohakea Hack Hurdles. —Mountain Bell 1, Banjnke 2, Sottano 3. Won by a length, 5 lengths between second and third. Time, 2.49 4-5. Trial Plate—Eden Ha]l 1, Great Day 2, Mr. Gamp, 3. Won by a length, four lengths between second and third. Time 1.17 Scott Memorial Handicap,— Beaumont 1, Rational 2, Fool’s Paradise 3. Won by a long neck, a head between' second and third. Time, 1.16 3.5. Carnarvon Hack Handicap. Star Shell 1, Roburite 2, Royal Damon 3. WW by one and aquarter lengths, a length between second and third. Time, 1.15 1-5.

Rangitikei Cup. —Glenross 1, The Lamb 2, Novar 3. Won by a neck, four lengths between second and third. Time, 2.8 4-5. Pukenui Hack Welter.— Rangi Sarto 1, No Response 2, Bonhomme 3. Won by a neck, four lengths between second and third. Time, 1.56 1-5.

Juvenile Handicap. Commendation 1, Elthein 2, Miss Pat 3. Aon by a long head, two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.2 3-5.

Ngatiapa Hack Handicap.—Royal Damon 1, Midnight Camp 2, Flying Shot 3. Won by two lengths each way. Time, 1.1 4-5. SECOND DAY. There was a good attendance, but speculation was not very brisk, and the belting slumped badly over the two-year-old race, which was practically a forgone conclusion. The total for the day was £14,083, as against £18,579 for the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £30,770, which represents a "decrease of £6046 on the two days. Results: —
