George Davidson, -who was injured, is in a private hospital. He may recover, but is in a precarious condition.
Mrs Taylor, proprietress of the building, had an insurance of £250 on her personal effects, making a total of £750 on the contents.
The inquest on the bodies of the victims commenced to-day, before Air. J. W. Stubbs, J.P. The bodies were practically unrecognisable, but medical evidence was called to identify them as far as possible by what was left of the remains, and the locality in which the bodies were found, as compared with the rooms the victims slept in.
