RABBIT BOARDS’ CONFERENCE.

Messrs B. G. Gower, F. C. Bailees, and D. K. Barron (inspector) members of the Manawatu Rabbit Board attended the Rabbit Boards’ conference held at Feilding on Tuesday. Among the most important remits carried were the following: — That the financial year shall end on the 31st day of March in each vear, in lieu of 31st day of December (Manawatu Board), That all proprietary rabbit poisons be sold in hermetically sealed tins with a guaranteed poisons analysis, approved by the Department of Agriculture, and that each container be labelled “that the poison is of a strength not less than the Government standard, and weight guaranteed of each container.”

That section 7g, of sub-section 1, be amended by deleting the words “first Monday in the month of November,” and substituting therefor the words “second Wednesday in the month of May,” and by deleting the words “in each succeeding third year thereafter,” and substituting therefor the words “as the election of County Councils is held.” All Rabbit Boards in the North Island were represented at the conference.
