CARS COLLIDE

ON WIHiEOKINO BRIDGE,

A collision between two motor cars occurred on the Whirokino bridge at about 11 o’clock on Sunday morning, fortunately without serious mishap to the occupants, but with damaging results to both cars. 'lt appears that Mr. 1. D. S. Cooksley with two others in his car, on ascending the rise to the bridge level noticed a car well on the bridge coming from the opposite direction. He immediately stopped and was about io back oil when the other car collided into his car with such force as to carry away the rtuinig board and locking the cars together, with the resultant damage.

Both parties submitted statements to the police. The approaches on both sides of the Whirokino bridge render it impossible to observe approaching cars until the bridge level is reached, but there is ample room to pass on the bridge.
