FOXTON RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB.
A meeting of members of the local Rugby Football Club was held last night, presided over by Mr. Hutchins (president). The secretary reported that lie had written to the Berhampore Club intimating that the club members would do their best to billet the visiting team on arrival. It was decided to leave the details over until next Saturday, on which date a friendly match would he played between local seniors and juniors.
Correspondence was read from the Levin Combined Sports Carnival Committee stating that a seven-a-side tournament would he held for seniors and juniors in the Horo-whenua-Manawatu Unions at Levin on Easter Saturday, and inviting the club to enter teams.
It was pointed out that Foxton would he playing Berhampore on lliat date and that there was a possibility of a team going to Opunake. The matter was held over in the meantime. I
A committee meeting was subsequently held. Present: Messrs. IT. Hutchins (president), F. Mason, G. Alexander, A. Stevenson, M. Cook, C. Proctor, F. Robinson, A. Thompson, J. K. Hornblow and R. McMurrav.
The chairman reported that a deputation appointed at the annual meeting had waited that evening on the Racing Club regarding dressing sheds, for which the latter body asked plans and particulars.—‘lt was decided that the committee meet on the grounds to-day to consider these.
The secretary and president were authorised to operate on the hank account.
Tt was decided to hold over the matter of a shop day until the committee decided the dressing accommodation question..
