S.M. COURT.

The monthly sitting of the local S.M. Court was held yesterday before J. L. Stout Esq., S.M. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was entered for plaintiff in the following cases: — W. Kirkland (Mr. Bergin) v. W. J. Sexton claim £3, costs £1 7s Gd; F. Rout v. R. Andrew £1 Is Od, costs 11s; M. lvavanagh v. M. Scadden, Mr. Bergin), £SO 15s 7d, costs £4 15s Gd; Barr and Tyer (Mr. Bergin) v. Poluka Iloterini £7 lGs 4d, costs £1 17s Gd; Farmers Co-qp. Federation (Mr. Bergin) v. Kereama £IOB Is Id, costs £0 Gs Gd; M. E. Perreau (Mr. Bergin)v. 11. Mitchell, £G 10s lid, costs £1 19s Gd. BREACH OF PROHIBITION ORDER, Peter Petersen, charged by the police with a breach of his prohibition order, pleaded guilty and was fined £2 and costs 7s. WANDERING STOCK. W. Berry, Manawatu County ranger, proceeded against Arthur Rouse, for allowing stock to wander on No. G Line. Defendant, who did not appear, was convicted and fined 10s and costs 9s Gd. Basil Walls on two similar charges was fined in similar amounts .on each charge as was Janies Allerby. LICENSING BREACHES. John McKenna, barman of the Manawatu Hotel, but not being the licensee, was charged by the police with supplying five bottles of beer to Frederick Cassidy and Marcus Vernon Lebas after hours on the evening of 13th February. A plea of guilty was entered. Constable Owen gave evidence in support of the charge and accused was convicted and fined £2 and 7/- costs. For being illegedly on the premises of the Manawatu Hotel on the above date Cassidy and Lebas were convicted and fined £1 each and costs. DRIVING WITHOUT LIGHTS. .John Raupi was charged by the police with driving a horse and cart on the Himatangi road on the night of 20th February without lights. Constable Owen in evidence, stated that on the night in question accused collided with a motor bus coming in the opposite direction. Accused’s cart was smashed, but little damage was done to the motor bus.

Raupi was convicted and lined 10/- and costs 13/-.
