ENTERTAINMENTS
ROYAL PICTURES,
Horses never pretend. Movie runaways are runaways. Broneoes don’t care what the book says, they bolt when they please. During the filming of “Taming the West," a Universal-Gihson special coming to the Royal theatre on Friday, Hoot Gibson, the star, was given it chance to demonstrate that he is not a mere cowboy when he rescues Alarcelinc Day, his leading lady, from possible injury when her horse ran away during a location trip.
Upon the completion of “The Rag Man” for Mctro-Goldwyn, Jackie Coogan undertook the now famous Near East Relief trip. lie visited practically every country of Europe, and met scores of notabilities. Jackie recently returned to America with a list of honours, which included a silver medal merit, from the Pope; the Order of St. George, from the Greek Stale; the Golden Cross of the Order of Jerusalem, from the Greek Church; and a speech of welcome and a specially autographed photograph from Mussolini, the Italian Premier. Jackie has now signed a new contract with Melro-Godwyn. Sec him at the Royal on Saturday.
