UNUSUAL CHARGE.

ALLEGATION AGAINST BLACKSMITH.

Christchurch, March 15

On a charge of unlawfully killing a'young woman, Jessie Wilson, a married man named Ernest Abraham Hall Archer, a blacksmith, aged 53, was arrested by the police yesterday.

The woman, who was 24 years of age, died in Archer’s workshop in Bath Street on Friday night. She became ill suddenly while there. Archer applied restoratives, which failed.

In Court this morning Archer was remanded for a week.
