TRADES’ UNION GATHERING.
One of the most successful pielics yet held at Ashhurst took place
>n Saturday under the auspices of he Trades’ Union. Approximately 700 were present and the proceedngs weix enlivened by the presence if the Foxton Silver Band, which 'endered a delightful programme.
The efforts of the committee were amply rewarded by the success of the function which proved to be very enjoyable. The children were each given a gift and all thoroughly enjoyed the outnig. A number of competitions and races were con-
