Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, MARCH 6, 1926. PUBLIC SWIMMING BATHS.
THE Committee set up to raise funds for the establishment of public swimming baths for Eoxlon have now passed the preliminary stage and have fixed the objective of £2OOO for this purpose. It is hoped to raise considerably-more than what will be required for . the baths, such surplus to be proportioned among the various sports bodies for improved facilities. The means of raising the greater part of the money will be by a Dominion-wide method, which will be fully explained at a later date. An organiser and permanent chairman have been appointed who, together with a representative executive, will carry out the details. That the local public will give their whole hearted support to the effort goes without saying and we wish the promoters success and hope the objective of £SOOO will bo reached.
