NATIONAL BRAND FOR DAIRY BOXES. A number of dairy companies have indicated that at 31st July next they will have on hand a supply of boxes and crates bearing the ordinary brand of the company, and are anxious to know whether or not these may be used after Ist August. The Dairy Control Board has carefully considered the matter, and has decided that it will be necessary to have the ends of the boxes and crates on hand at Ist August branded on the other side with the national brand. This will mean that the ordinary brand will be on the inside of the boxes and crates. It will be necessary for dairy companies to provide for butter or cheese, which although being manufactured prior to Ist August, will not be shipped till after that date, to be packed in boxes or crates bearing the national brand.
