A delicious fruit, hitherto unknown to the civilised world, has been discovered in the Tres Marias Islands, off the west coast of Mexico. The fruit somewhat resembles the ordinary olive in size and colour.
Electric contacts placed on the railway line, which operate a signal inside 'the cab of the engine and warn the driver that the signal is against him, are in use on French railways. They are known as crocodiles
Robert Griffiths, the blind matchseller who for 42 years stood at the Temple gate and was the friend of two generations of baristers, has just died in London. Not long ago he was left £lO in the will of an old passer-by. Fressingland, in Suffolk, has acquired a fire engine for Is lid, the cost of a telegram and a confirmatory letter. A firm in the country advertised that it had no further ise for the engine and offered to give it to the first genuine applicant.
