BOWLING

Takaro Club are holding a gala day and competitions on Saturday of this week, and invite members of Foxton Club to be present. Bowlers wishing to make the trip should advise the secretary. On Wednesday next, so far as present arrangements stand, Levin Bowling Club will send four rinks on a friendly visit to Foxton Club.

Bowlers throughout this district will regret to learn of the death yesterday of Mr. Wallace Jolly, of Palmerston North. The late Mr. Jolly wa|s of late years a very prominent figure in bowling circles in Palmerston North, being a member of the Palmerston North Club. A good bowler and a good sport, his presence will not only be missed by members of his own club, but by bowlers generally of the Centre when visiting that green.
