SCHOOL PICNIC.

The sub-committee appointed to carry out details in connection with the school picnic met on Thursday night. Present: Rev. Walton, Woods, Roore and the headmaster. The tender of Mr. Perreau for catering was accepted. - The sports programme as drawn up by Mr. Roore was adopted, and suggestions by High School pupils re certificates in lieu of cash prizes was agreed to. It was reported that the railway department would run a special train to Ash hurst to leave Foxton at 7.45 a.m., returning at 0.45 p.m. The fares would be children 1/0 senior scholars 2/-, adults 3/-. It was decided to'urge committee men to canvass for funds to meet expenditure.
