The Sovereigns of England since the Conquest have been reckoned from that event, and Edward of the dynasty that came in with the Conqueror, ignoring Edward the Martyr, and Edward the Confessor. The ancient Welsh family of Salusfaury have had a lucky find in the shape of an original Shakespearean document, discovered among their archives. It is said to be a page of the first folio. The gallant Sir John Salusbury was a personal friend of the poet, who dedicated one of iiis minor poems to him. Breaking the voluntary imprisonment in the Vatican which the Popes have imposed on themselves, pope Pius XI intends to leave the Vatican for the first time this year, when on the occasion of the seventh centenary of the death ot St. Francis of Assisi he will visit Assisi (o pray at the tomb of St. Francis.
