UNITED SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

A committee of the United Sjjorts Association was held on Thursday evening, Mr. W. Jewell presided and there were also present Messrs. D. Christie, D. Ogilvy, G. Alexander, R. D. Barron, H. Hutchins, E. Parkin, F. A. Mason and F. Rinnner ,(secretary). Apologies were received from Messrs. R. Bryant, S. Barber, W. E. Barber, S. Austin and J. Thompson. The secretary was instructed to apply for extended leave to the troops in camp for the night of the dance.

The following officials were confirmed in their appointments:— Horse events, Judge, Mr. J. Cameron; starter Mr. F. Woods; timekeeper, Mr. W. Neville; clerk of course, Mr. F. Robinson. Running events: Messrs. Christie, Bryant and Barron; starters Messrs. F. Woods and E. Parkin; time-keeper, Mr. W. Neville; luyulicapper, Mr T. Stubbs; wood chopping and sawing, judges: Messrs. J. Thomson, R. Bryant, and G. Alexander; starter, Mr. F. Woods; time-keeper Mr. W. Neville; handicapper, Mr Watkins; children’s events were left in the hands of Mr. F. Mason; protest committee, Messrs. W. Jewell, W. E. Barber and R. Bryant.

Committees: Horse events, Messrs \V. Jewell, W. E. Barber, S. Austin and S. Barber: pedestrians, Messrs. Perreau, Parkin, Pearson, Bryant, Barron and Christie, wood chopping and sawing Messrs. G. Alexander, J. Thomson and Pearson; blackboard, Mr. R. Rangiheuea; clerk of scales, Mr. 8. Austin; stewards, Messrs. G. T. Smith, W. T. Wiinstanley and P. Jack.

Mr. Christie was appointed to interview the statiomnaster re special train for day of the sports.

The Foxton Silver Band offered to provide a musical programme for the sports and this was accepted with thanks.
