THE NEW STEAM RAILWAY CARS.

It is probable that within a day 01 so the new steam railway car, which the Department has decided to place on the Foxton-Palmerston North run, will commence operations on the branch line. Already the new Ford ear for the Grey town branch line has commenced operations.

The new vehicle has comfortable seating accommodation for 57 people, and is attractively upholstered and finished. Steam power is generated at one end, but. the car is controllable from either end. It has been tried out on the Hult and Manawatu lines and, some time ago, paid a visit to Foxton.
