“THE ENGLISH FUTURISTS.”

The theatregoers of Foxton are promised a rare treat on Tuesday next, the 16th. February, when the “English Futurists,” a company of sixteen artists at present touring the world, are to appear at the Town Hall for one night, only. Everywhere this unique band appear they are acclaimed as something “right out of the box.” The company (enhanced by the inclusion of the “Cabaret Kittens Ballet,” and “The Futurist Jazz Orchestra”), is presented by G. IV. Desmond and Cyril Northcote, who will be remembered by many as the principal comedians with the latest Sydney James’ “Roy;il Strollers” who toured New Zealand some years ago. They were with Mr. James until his unfortunate death in Karachi, India, in 1010, and then decided to form “The English Futurists.” Since that date the company) with slight alterations and augmentations, has successfully played in no less than 18 countries covering over 100,000 miles in so doing. When in Wellington the Post spoke of them as the “show of 1001 surprises,” and the Dominion said “the quintessence of real entertainment.” Vocally the show is represented by a soprano, contralto, operatic tenor and baritone. There are four commedians of entirely different types and incomparable dancers. ' In this latter category will be discovered two old favourites in Gus Dawson and Eily Dagleish, who were with the New Zealand Diggers. Cleverly interspersed with beautiful solo work and pretty song scenes are some new entirely new skits, and burlesques written by the leading London review writers. The scenery is all new and beautifully painted and the froeking can only be called gorgeous. There are no tedious stage waits, every item following its predecessor with lightening like rapidity. Popular prices will prevail for this night of nights, viz., 4/-, 3/-, & 2/-, plus tax and the box plan is at 11. L. Heath’s, where patrons are strongly advised to reserve their accommodation.
