WEDDING

SECKER—BARBER

A pretty rainbow wedding was solemnised in All Saints’ Church yesterday, the Rev. W. H. Walton officiating, when Kathleen Clare, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs W. E. Barber, of Motuiti, was united in matrimony to Walter, youngest son of Mrs Seeker, of Palmerston North. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a frock of apricot geogette and lace over apricot satin with veil of same shade in embroidered silk net, held in place with orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of apricot roses and Iceland poppies. She was attended by Mrs Colin Englinton, sister of the groom, as matron of honour, who wore a frock of eau-de-nil silk crcpe-de-chine with lavender hat and •carried a bouquet of gold roses and gladiolus; and Miss Madge Barber (sister of the bride), who wore lavender corona with a hat of black and lavender, and carried a bouquet of pink roses and carnations. Mr. E. G. Seeker officiated as best man, and Mr. Colin Eglinton as groomsman. Mrs E. Jackson presided at the organ. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the residence of the

bride's parents where the usual toasts were honoured and felicitous speeches made. The bride’s mother wore a French model of black maroeain, handsomely beaded, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of African daises. The bridegroom’s mother wore toast maroeain with hat to match and carried a bouquet of golden dahlias. The happy couple left by car for the south, the bride travelling in a coat frock of navy and fawn marocain with hat to tone.
