PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting was held in the Plunket office yesterday. Present : Mesdame's F. Robinson (president), Trueman, Heasman, Christie, Downes, Barr, Pearson, A. Ross and MeMurray. Apologies were received from Mrs Austin-Johnston, F. Proctor and Walton.
The nurse’s monthly report showed visits to Foxton 5, homes 8, adults to office 54, children 67, new cases 1, letters posted 4; also that the general health of the children was good.
The secretary reported that Mrs Austin-Johnston’s doll competition was won by Miss Dell Free, of Palmerston North, and had benefited the Society’s funds to the extent of £3 9/-.
Final arangements for the shop day on Saturday next, January 30th. were made. The Foxton silver band intimated their willingness to give a programme of music outside the shop that evening, and for a collection to be taken up in aid of the Society’s funds. A hearty v.ote of thanks was accorded the band.
Mesdames F. Robinson, Pearson, Austin-Johnstou, and Barr donated prizes for competition. There will also be a bag of sugar for competition.
. An account of £6 6/8 was passed for payment.
Alesdames Heasmau and A. Ross were appointed visitors for the month and Mrs A. Russ flower steward.
Proceeds from Air. E. Healey’s weighing machine totalled 11/7, and room contribution box 8/7. The public are asked to support the shop day on Saturday next. Goods may be left at the Plunket cilice, Clyde street.
