BOWLING
VISIT, TO OTAKI TO-MORROW.
As the result of a suggestion from Foxton Club for the arrangement of dates for inter-club visits during the remainder of this season Otaki lias invited Foxton bowlers to visit their green to-morrow. Three rinks have been asked for, and it is anticipated this number will make tbe trip. Players desiring to be included, and who have not yet banded in their names, should do so immediately. It lias been arranged that the conveyance leave the local green at 12.30 o’clock. DIXON AND MANSON AND BARR CUPS#
Two rinks from Terrace Eml Bowling Club made a trip to Damievirkc on Saturday in an endeavour to bring back both tbe Munson and Barr Cup and tbe Dixon Cup and Tucker Badges, both of which trophies Daimevirke held. The visitors managed to win the latter eup, although they were unsuccessful with the other trophy. The Terrace End rink in the Manson and Barr Cup encounter was Proud, Johnston, Anderson, and Davidson (s), their opponents being Chick, Clark, Rankin, and Bissell (s). The game was a very close one, and although the home players established a lead of 8 points at one time, the visitors succeeded in catching up and brought about a close finish. Dannevirke winnig by 10 to 15 and retaining the
cup. In the other game the visitors’ representatives were Christensen, Moffatt, Wallace, and Carter (s.), and the Dannevirke Rink was W ebber, Smith. Williams, and Gilbert (s). This was also a very keen encounter. Dannevirke got tbe lead on the first four or five beads, but Terrace End caught up until on the twentieth bead the score was 18 all. Tbe visitors got one on the last head and emerged victors by ID —IS.
