Among the police promotions and transfers consequent on the retirement of Commissioner Wright. Detective-Sergeant T. Quirke, of Palmerston North, is promoted to the rank of senior detective. Seni-or-Detective T. Quirke was appointed a detective at Palmerston North ted to the rank of detective-serge-in 1906 and has been stationed there ever since. In 1913 he was promoant. Senior- Detective Quirke, will remain in Palmerston North.
