ENTERTAINMENTS

ROYAL PICTURES. A picture with a startling story and a wonderfully dramatic climax makes its appearance at the Royal theatre tomorrow night. It is entitled “Alimony,” and reveals something of the callousness of parties to modern matrimony when the accumulation of wealth becomes their chief desire in life. The film accords many glimpses of life as it is lived in the great cities to-day and includes jazz parties, bathing excursions and yachting parties on a magnificent scale. Warner Baxter and Grace Darmond appear to advantage in an all star cast. Comedy “Father Says.” “Vendetta” is the nickname given Eulalie Jensen by her friends. The actress is a dark-eyed brunette of the vivid type of beauty usually associated with woman of intense Latin natures. Miss Jensen plays the role of a French countess in “Slave of Destiny,” the film version of Balzac’s story. “The Magic Skin,” which comes to the Royal theatre next Saturday.

SYD. CHAPLIN IN “CHARLEY’S

AUNT.”

“Charley’s Aunt” the most laughable farce ever written with Syd Chaplin in the title role will be the big attraction at the Town Hall tomorrow, Friday evening. This piece has rocked theatres all over the world with laughter for thirty years, and in picture form is funnier than ever. With supporting films “Charley’s Aunt” will be screened at usual prices, fid and 1/6, children 3d and lid.

Shirley Mason will be seen on Saturday night in “Scandal Proof” the story of a woman’s triumph over tremendous odds. Next week will see a continuation of the Tom Mix Zane Grey series when “Riders of the Purple Sage” is being presented. . Watch for further particulars.
