WHIROKINO ROAD DEVIATION.

The Manawatu County Council has completed the survey and acquisition of land for the deviation of the Whirokino road, as recommended by the Main Highways Board. The new road will continue through high land on Mr. O. Rob-' inson’s property, about 60 chains, this cutting off an awkward triangle which folows the main drain which it crosses at an acute angle. The reason for the deviation is to avoid a lllood affected area and sinking surface. The old road will be kept open. The construction of the new road will be undertaken af an early date.
