Manawatu Herald. TUESDAY, JANUARY 12th, 1926. PUBLIC SWIMMING BATHS.

FOR some years past there has been local agitation for public swimming baths. Public meetings have been held and resolutions passed favouring the proposal, but differences of opinion as to a suitable site proved a stumbling block. Sit-, es were advocated at the river side, Easton Park and at the rear of the Council chambers. The question is to be re-opened at a meeting to be held in hie Council Chambers next Friday afternoon, when the acquisition of a new site will be submitted and ways and means of raising funds discussed. There is every probability that finality will be reached at the meeting and that before next summer a public swimming batb will be an established fact in Foxton.
