The High Commissioner’s cable dated 9th inst., reads: —
Manila market quiet; “J” grade sold up to £47 at beginning of this week, and closed strjdy at £46 Ills. Sisal steady, and small business has been done in No 1 Tanganyika at £45; second class quality offered freely, but not wanted at £-12. New Zealand market quiet but firm. Good enquiry for fair, value £36 10s. ' Any position high-points afloat and January-March shipments quoted at £34 10s Od.
