“THE CHARMER.”

The story of a Spanish innkeeper’s daughter who comes to dance before London’s bright lights. That’s Pola Negri’s role in her latest picture “The Charmer” which will head the programme at the Town Hall Cabaret to-morrow evening. “The Charmer” based on the British novel “Mariposa” by Henry Baerlein tells of Mariposa, a dancing girl who comes to London under the wing of a kindly theatrical manager. With her mother who is a great comedy character, she becomes rapidly involved in a series of fantastic adventures. A comedy “The Snow Hawk,” a scenic “Hungary’” and latest news complete the programme to be offered at usual Cabaret Prices.

It was at the suggestion of his famous brother Charlie, that Syd. Chaplin was given the title role of “Charley’s Aunt” the screen version of the great farce by Brandon Thomas which comes to the Town Hall on Friday next. ROYAL PICTURES. “I’ll Show You the Town,” the Universal-Jewel feature starring Reginald Denny, coming to the Royal Theatre, Wednesday, .is the screen version of Elmer Davis’ sensational novel of the same name. This picture is one of the greatest laughing successes of the year, showing Denny in the role of a wo-man-hating college professor of thirty, who tries to get an endowment for the impoverished college from a wealthy widow. In attempting to win her favour, he wins her heart, and complications begin to set in with the girl he expects to marry and two others whom he has promised to “show the town.” Denny is supported by a notable east including Mariam .Nixon, Edward Gimball, Lilyan Tashman, Hayden Stevenson, Cissy Fitzgerald, Margaret Livingston, Neely Edwards, William A. Carroll, Martha Mattox, Helen Greene and Lionel Braham. Harry A. Pollard directed the production.
