SEASIDE SUGGESTIONS.
“I have been a resident at the seaside for more than 20 years, during which time I have contributed to the rates and to other objects for popularising the resort,” was the opening remarks of Mrs • Burgess lo our representative yesterday. Mrs Burgess said that with others she had protested against the name “Sanitarium”,to that sheltered portion of ; the btacli which had been first settled. She considered, the mime “Sanitorium” was prejudicial to the seaside. “Up to the present we have not been given safe road access. A road was formed leading oil the main road, but it is impassible except for horsedrawn vehicles. If this road was metalled, it would not only be the quickest but safest route, avoiding the cutting and tide waters. It would also assist the Board to dispose of a number of sections and so thereby increase its revenue. This road should be called - “Seabury St.” after the tirsfc pilot to the port. I think it is time the Board'gave us a little more attention and I hope you will give the matter publicity,” concluded Mrs Burgess.
