BOWLING.

During the New Year holidays “friendly” games were played on the local green; one rink being present from the Beach on Saturday. The weather conditions were not ideal for play, but nevertheless some enjoyable games were played.

One rink from Foxton was present at the Woodville tournament, but the unfavourable weather interfered greatly with the fixture. The section play was ultimately decided in favour of two Terrace End rinks. The winners of section A were Christensen, Moffatt, Wallace and Duncalf (skip.), and of section B Proud, Ashton, Snell and Davidson (skip). The two rinks will play off von the Terrace End green at an early date.

The British bowlers will visit Palmerston North on Thursday. Foxton club has been requested to send two players to take part in the contest. These two members will be Messrs. Walker and Healey.
