CROQUET.
The following are the results of the half hour’s tournament, played on the green yesterday afternoon : Mrs Bryant 54, Mrs Pearson 41, Mrs Downes 41, Mrs Parkes 3, Mrs Ball 3, Mrs Barr 3. Miss Spcirs 3, Mrs Woods 2, Mrs McMurray 2, Mrs Owen 11, Mrs Huntley 14. In the ladder match Miss Ross defeated Miss Wanklyn by 26-21. A test match resulted in Mrs Owen defeating Mrs floods 20-19. The handicaps for singles tournament are as follows: Mrs Perveau scr., Mrs Pearson 24 bisques, Mrs Owen 21 do., Mrs McMurray 21 do., Mrs Woods 34 do., Mrs Parkes 41 do., Mrs Bryant 41 do., Mrs Barr 5 do., Mrs Ball 5 do., Mrs Downes 54 do., Mrs Moore 54 do., Mrs Huntley 54 do., Miss Speirs 61 do., Miss Ross 71 do., Miss Wanklyn 84 do. VALEDICTORY TO MRS HEAD. Yesterday afternoon, Mrs S. Head, who is taking up residence in Wellington at the end of the week, was faiewelled at the croquet club. Mrs R. Parkes, vice-president, in asking Mrs Head to accept a handbag as a token of esteem, said her departure would lie a great loss to the club. Not only was she one of the good players, but she was also a splendid working member. On the (dub’s behalf, the vice-president wished her happiness and prosperity in her new home. In returning thanks, Mrs Head assured the members of a welcome if at any time they should be in Wellington. She said she had had a great deal of pleasure on the green, and she regretted leaving.
