TENNIS NOTES.

A match between Levin and Foxton Clubs was played on the Foxton club’s courts on Saturday afternoon, Foxton being the victors by 12 sets to 9, and 102 games to 87. Following were the scores, Levin players being mentioned first in each instance:—

Owing to the rain commencing, two of the ladies’ and one of the men’s singles were not played. On Wednesday next a match is being played with Shannon at Foxton.

On Thursday evening last the Foxton Tennis Club held a successful dance in the Masonic Hall, which was well attended. Mr. W. Larkin supplied delightful music, bliss Arnold playing extras. Mr N. Ross made a capable M.C. The supper was presided over by the ladies’ committee.

The following is the team to play Shannon to-morrow at Foxton: —

L. C. Bryant, C. Proctor, N. Ross, R. Bradly, J. Caughley, R. Shaw, Mrs. MeMurray, Misses Owen, Perreau, Barber, Peryman, Mrs Eruera. Any member unable to play, please notify the secretary. The match will commence at 1.30 p. m.
