RECORD FRUIT CROP PREDICTED.
BRIGHT PROSPECTS IN HAWKE’S BAY.
Hastings, Nov. 12. In discussing with a reporter the present season’s prospects, Mr. Adamson, orchard inspector for Hawke’s Bay, said that although dry- weather had prevailed for some time the orchards were not suffering, and under good cultivation the continuance of dry weather was unlikely seriously to affect the output. The foliage and fruit were particularly bright and the crop prospects were excellent. Small areas were touched by last Saturday’s frost, but the output would not be seriously affected. A large number of younger orchards were coming into the production stage, and there was every prospect of an increase on last year’s crop of apples. He anticipated that the . 1926 season would see a record fruit export from the district.-
