CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.) Sir. —AA’lth your kind permission I will reply to one sheltering under the doleful nom-de-plume “Disgusted.” I assume him to be of the masculine variety although the phrase “totally unprovided for has a ring of the widow with orphans” about it, anyhow “Disgusted” seems in a bad way. He has probably been missing “Krusehen.” Now to our muttons, my report reads that practically all the roads had been under the gentle and benign influence of the road grader. It is true that one or two little stretches he mentions were, not touched, but he lias been misinformed about Purer/t Street. Going there and back accounts for two of the journeys along Johnston Street and the other two occasions were going and returning - from the AVhirokino Road, when working for the Alanawatu County Council. The fact of there being no councillors down in the south had no heaving on the position. Our City Fathers have a paternal interest in every part ot the borough. Let “Disgusted” no longer bewail having no representative, hut seek to emulate the cheerful spirit of “One who uses the bullock track.” This worthy citizen anticipates the day when the southern part of the borough will have six stalwarts to fight their battles. They will doubtless get. things done. Aleanwhile “Disgusted” had better join up with the K.O.S. Club and he can rest assured that it was not through any want of respect that the road grader missed a few chains of the road in his locality. Thanking you, Sir, in anticipation, I remain yours truly ,

ALBERT GEORGE HUNTLEY.
