FOXTON FIRE BRIGADE.
* Last Tuesday night members of the local Eire Board met the Brigadesmen at the station to explain decisions arrived at by the Board at its last meeting. On the question being put to the meeting was decided to admit the Press to the conference. Deputy Downes occupied the chair. There was a full attendance of the Brigade and Messrs Perreau, Woods and Walker, representing the Eire Board, were also present. In opening, Mr. Perreau said he wished to contradict _a rumour that had been circulated to the effect that liquor was being consumed on the station premises. The Board celled owing to certain irregularities.
Mr. Woods endorsed Mr. Pcrrean’s remarks and said that they hoped to have a new enamel bath installed at the station by Christmas and also to have the living rooms lined and necessary works carried out. CORRESPONDENCE was then read from the Board in connection with an art union for the purpose of installing a wireless set at the station, stating that the art union would have to be cancelled owing o certain irregularities. After considerable discussion it was decided to accept the Board’s recommendations. A further motion was also carried urging the Board to import a Superintendent for the Brigade.
