Over 25,000,000 board feet of lumber was exported from Vancouver during September the actual figures being 26,784,000 feet. Since the first of the year the total lumber exported amounted to 323,050,000 board feet. This is a large increase over the total for the whole of last year. Canada’s exports to France during the years 1922 and 1923 were more than double those of the previous year. The increase was due principally to cereals, dried uixd tinned fruits, sugar, wood pulp, and
steam and other engines. French exports to Canada showed only a small increase. At the Norfolk and Norwich Kennel Club show the King won the championship, the Coronation Grand Challenge Shield, and a special prize for the best sporting dog with Wolferton Ben, a Labrador retriever. Wiith Wolferton Shelah, another Labrador, he carried off six first prizes. The breeding of mink for commercial purposes is a new industry which has followed the success of the silver black fox breeding in Prince Edward Island. This venture has met with considerable success and recently a shipment of mink was made to British Columbia and points in the western United States.
