Red-blooded romance and drama can best describe “As Man Desires,” the First National feature, which will be screened to-night at the Royal Theatre. “As Man Desires” is drama with action and punch. In the role of Major John Craig, a British army Surgeon, stationed in India. Milton Sills is in a characterisation such as we like to see him. Sills was in his element in “The Sea Hawk” as a gentleman pirate, the scourge of the seven seas. He is jusf as well cast as the embittered soldier who, falsely accused of murder, (lees to the South Sea Islands to hide and forget. Co-featured with him is Viola Dana in a most charming and acceptable part, that of. a bewitching vivacious native dancing girl. An exceptional fine comedy is “My Friend,” featuring Lloyd Hamilton. “Here’s How,” sensational story by Richard Washlmrn Child, former United States minister to Italy, has been called one of the most searching expose of certain phases of American family life. “The Mad Whirl,” Universal-Jewel all star production is the screen version of “Here’s How” and is coming lo Ihe Royal theatre next Wednesday with a east headed by May MeAvoy and and including Jack Muihall, Myrtle Steelman, Barbara Bedford, Alee B. Rafael Sahitlinis novel “Captain Blood” has been made into a great master picture of 1L reels and will he the big attraction at the Town Hall on Monday. This exciting and romantic drama of galley slave days lias been produced on a lavish scale by the Vitagraph Coy. with a cast of thousands of players headed by Warren Kerrigan, Jean Paige and Charlotte Merriam.
