A NARROW ESCAPE

YOUTH ASLEEP ON RAILWAY LINE. ' Dunedin, October 21. Thomas Treloar (19 years of age), a resident of Sawyer’s Bay, had a narrow escape from death at the month of the Blanket, Bay tunnel yesterday. He had been to a dance at Rawensbourne, and when returning home fell asleep by the railway line. The early morning train from Dunedin to Palmerston, though strongly braked on sighting him, struck him, inflicting broken ribs and a bruised body.
