FOXTON BEACH

EXCURSION FACILITIES. MR. NASH SUGGESTS RAILWAY EXTENSION. “'Are you in favour of extending the railway to Foxton beach and running trains there on Sundays and holidays?” was a written question handed to Mr J. A. Nash during his meeting at the Opera House on Monday night (says the Standard). The position at present, the candidate replied, was that the railway did not run right to the beach. He suggested calling a public meeting in an endeavour to have the railway extended by means of a light line to the Manawatu Heads from Foxton town. He would willingly attend such a meeting and lend the movement his support. Then would come the time ‘to agitate for the running of trains to the beach for excursions.
