“As compared with last week’s quotations, there is little change; decreased demand, owing to high prices.”
LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs. Levin & Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 2nd October, 1925: — “The auctions are progressing with fairly animated competition. Catalogues are being well cleared sellers’ meeting the market. During the present series over 100,000 bales have already been sold. Medium and coarse crossbreds have advanced live per cent, to seven and a half per cent, on opening rates.
• THE HEMP MARKET. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 3rd inst., reads: Hemp, Manila market, dull and easier. Buyers quote “J” grade OctoberDecember shipments at £4l. New Zealand market quiet in sympathy. Nominal value October-December shipments high points £39, fair £35 5s Od.
