FOXTON TENNIS CLUB

The annual general meeting of the Foxton Tennis Club was held

in the Town Hall on Thursday night, before a moderate attendance. The report and balancesheet were read and adopted, the balance-sheet- showing the Club to he in n better financial position than it has been for many years. The following officers were elec- -r ted:—Patron: Mr Francis Robinson; President: Mr Charles Simmons; Vice-Presidents: Messrs. M. E. Pereau, Bergin, W. E. Barber, J. Linklater, M.P., Dr. E. M. Wyllie; Secretary: Mr. C. Proctor; Treasurer: Mr. J. N. Caughley; Auditor: Mr. Trueman. General Committee: Messrs. N. A. Ross, L. C. Bryant, R-. MeMurray, J. N. Caughley, R. Shaw, Mesdanies MeMurray, Hay, D. Ball, and Misses Owen and R. Barber. Match Committee: Messrs. N .A. Ross, R. MeMurray, L. C. Bryant. The resignation of the following members were accepted with regret: Messrs. Jackson, Ball and Hynes. The following new members were proposed and accepted: Misses Mullaney, Free, B. Gower, M. Arnold, Mesdames Davy, A. Thompson, Hay, Messrs Hay, Warwick, Bradley, R. Shaw, Davy.

General Business. It was decided that the secretary be allowed free membership during ensuing year. (2) that the Committee be authorised to spend £5 on the courts. (3) That the Club pay for engraving the Walton Rose Bowl and the Men’s Handicap Cup for Ihe past four years, and that miniatures lie presented to the winners of these trophies for the past years, and that the Club endeavours to raise the necessary money by competitions throughout the year. . Messrs R. Shaw and L. C. Bryant were empowered to purchase miniatures and see to the engrav-

ing. It was decided that a record be kept in the Club’s minute book at every annual meeting of the names of the trophy winners of the past seasons. It was decided to reduce the over-draft by £lO. It was decided to divide the players into two grades, A and B, the match committee to arrange players E as they think fit.
