The police stilted that other cheques had been issued, representing all told £SO 15s. it was a case of opening a small banking ueocunt, obtaining a cheque-book, and issuing the cheques. The accused had hitherto borne a good character, but was living apart from his wife, and had come under the spell of another woman. Many of the cheques had been issued to pay for purchases by this lady. The accused was admitted to probation for twelve months on condition that the money is restored.
