ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
The fortnightly meeting of the executive of the Manawatu Football Association was held in Palmerston North on Monday evening, when the. president, Ml’. J. C. Young, occupied the chair. Other members present were Messrs 0. Taylor, J. Davidson, E. Kempson, H. Crouch, H. Johnson and J. Blackwell (honorary secretary). The following were nominated for the North Island team: A. Chapman, R. B. Jones and R. H. Davis. All are members of the R.S.A. team. The following were selected to go into training for the final selection of the team to play Wanganui:—Chapman (E.S.4*)> Jones (R.S.A.), Taylor fR.S.A.), Jones (R.S.A), Hearsey (Athletic), Travers Jr. (Athletic), Tucker (R.S.A.), Wheeler (Athlete), Travel’s, Senr. (Foxton), Bell (St. Andrew's), Davies (Atheletic), Shipp (Fox.ton), Tantrum (Rangers), West (R.‘S>A.), Whitehouse (Atheletic), and J. Stevens (R.S.A.). The fixtures for next Saturday will be: —Foxton v. Dock House, at Flock House. R.S.A. v. Atheletic (final knock-out competition). It was decided to register as an incorporated society as soon as possible. Medals are to be presented to the winning team of the senior primary schools’ competition. Messrs. Johnson and Davidson will be line-umpires for the game on Saturday. A vote of thanks to Mr. H. J. Simmpnds was passed for the manner in which he had controlled the boys while in Wellington. Accounts amounting to £fi 12s. were passed for payment.
