OBITUARY.
WILLIAM XEWTIT, AGED 07 YEARS.
It is with deep regret that we record the death of Mr. William Xewth, an old and respected resident of Foxton, who died at the Palmerston North Hospital at about id.3(l o'clock on Sunday night aged D 7 yours. The late Mr. Xewth had been a resident of Foxlon for 3-1 years during the greater part of which time he was engaged in liax work. Deceased was n son
of one of New Zealand’s pioneers. His grand father came out to the Dominion in IS4I settling in the Nelson district, and was followed liv his son (the late Mr. Newtli's father, who was at the time aged L 3 vears) twelve months later. The into Mr. Xewth was born in Waimere West, Nelson, in the year .1858, and in 1891 removed to Westport with his wile and lainilv. Three years later they came to foxton where deceased and his wife have resided ever since.
About ten weeks ago Air. Xewth collapsed while at work, and was removed to the Palmerston North Hospital, where lie was found to be suffering from heart trouble, of uhieli complain! he. succumbed on Sunday night. The late Mr, Xewth leaves a wife and I'amilv of two sons, Richard (Invercargill) and Herbert (Foxton) and one daughter (Mrs Saveli), also of Foxton to mourn their loss.
Air. J. Xewth of Hall Street, is a brother of deceased. The funeral will leave deceased's late residence at 2 p.m. on Wednesday for All Saints’ Church thence to the Foxton cemetery.
CATHERINE McCAULEY—
AGED 58 YEARS
There passed away in the Palmerston North Hospital on Saturday another of Foxlon’s much respected residents in the person of Airs Catherine McCauley, relict of. the late John AieCauley, aged 58 years. The late Airs AfcCaulev was born at Waterford, Ireland, in ISC.7, and when at the age of 15 years came mil to New Zealand. Deceased was married to her late husband in Woodville in 1892, and removed to Foxton about 13 years ago. Her husband predeceased her ton months ago. The late Mrs MeCau|,.y. suffered from a heart affliction, ,unl wfls rotnowtl to tin 1 Piilmersl on X. Hospital last Tuesday, and succumbed to the complaint on Snturdav evening.
Deceased leaves a family of two sons. John (Wellington) and Dennis ([Tereiauuga). and one daughter (Evelvn) to mourn their loss. The funeral took place on Sunday, the services at St., Alary s Church and the graveside being conducted by the Rev. Father MeDormid.
