CANKER AT THE HEART OF THE WORLD.

BRITISH SEAMEN OX “THE “THE COMMUNISTS.” British seamen travel all over the world. They ought to know something and they do. Jack is not a dullard, and what he has to say is said plainly. Like other they have met the Reds. What is thought of them is presented in this leader taken from “The Seaman,” Official organ of the National Sailors’ and Firemen's Union, Great Britain (June 19th 1925.) “We have written in this journal articles regarding Communists and their methods, and we make no apology for again reviewing this qucsion as we consider that the time is fast approaching when all Governments will have to take very drastic steps to end these people’s activities.

“Whilst every country in Europe is striving to fight its way back to normality after the chaos and trade depressions created by the Great War,’ the Communists, dictated to by the Moscow Butchers, are slowly and steadily nullifying all the efforts that are being made to place the world on a sounder commercial economical basis, and their efforts are being principally directed against this country. The Russian “Reds” know that unless they can bring about a revolution in Great Britain, the whole Communist movement of the world must inevitably die.

“We have, from time to time, urged such people as Purcell, A. .7. Cook and Tom Mann to show their patriotism and love for their country and their fellow workers —if they have any—by devoting their energies, to bring about a better understanding belween Capital and Labour, instead of using their every endeavour to place fresh burdens on industries which they know perfectly well cannot bear them. However, let them be warned, working men do not forget, and when they find (hat these gentlemen have deceived them and taken away their means of livelihood by their methods, the gentlemen in question will find to their sorrow that they are no longer honoured in the land of Trade Unionism.” SOME STRAIGHT ADVTCE. Here is how Ihis Labour journal advises it readers: We recommend our readers- who may come in contact with Communists at meetings or elsewhere, to carefully sift all their statements before accepting them. If they do so they will find that they are composed of 95 per cent lies, and the remaining 5 per cent, of very doubtful truths. Do not be deceived. The Millenium will not be brought nearer by the “Reds.” It fhev succeed —and success is only possible to them through the working classes of this country —we are afraid that the working rinses will find that they have exchanged a reasonably warm frying pan for a hellishly hot tire.
