Christchurch, August, Id. The Lyttleton Times announced this morning that AH'. Milford has definitely decided to resign his position as Leader of the National Party owing to ill-health . Up will probably he succeeded by ALr. G. \V. Forbes. Air. X. Ai. Wilford, Leader of the Opposition, is not enjoying good health at present, and has been told by liis medical adviser that rest ia imperative. A Dominion reporter was informed yesterday that theie was nothing organically wrong hi Air. M ilford's case, but the edict has gone forth that complete rest was essential. It is expected that Air. M ilford will be compelled to ask for leave of absence from the House.
